Revolutionary War: Fort Carr

One American detachment laid siege to Fort Carr on the upper river, which had been seized by the British. It was almost successful, but when the Americans received word that a Tory army of 800 men were head towards Savannah from Ninety Six, South Carolina, they retreated, crossing the river near Fort Charlotte (on the Carolina side) just below the Broad and Savannah Rivers.
