Revolutionary War: The King's Birthday

On June 3rd, 1775 another opportunity to show defiance occurred on the king's birthday. The usual celebration took place, but when it came time to fire the customary salute to the king from the cannon set beside the bluff on the Savannah River, it was found that the guns ha been toppled into the river!  History is replete in the many surviving records of Chatham County, particularly in the wills found on Georgia Pioneers
